Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Ric Flair, Alexa Bliss, Matt Hardy and more react to the “unexpectedly” passing of the WWE star, only 36 years old

WWE legend turned Hollywood film star Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has led the tributes to Bray Wyatt, who died at the age of 36 after reportedly suffering a heart attack. 

The three-time WWE world champion was believed to be nearing a comeback, having not competed since his January win over LA Knight in a Mountain Dew Pitch Black Match at the Royal Rumble. 

Wyatt had been battling a long-term illness – that was described as ‘life-threatening’ – which had kept him out of the ring, but had finally been cleared to wrestle again with September pinpointed for a potential return. 

But on Thursday Wyatt passed away after suffering a heart attack, having battled with health problems brought on by Covid-19 earlier this year, according to Fightful.com

‘I was given permission to reveal that earlier this year Windham Rotunda (Bray Wyatt) got COVID that exacerbated a heart issues.’ Sean Ross Sapp of the publication wrote on Twitter.

‘There was a lot of positive progress towards a return and his recovery. Unfortunately today he suffered a heart attack and passed away.’

Following the tragic news, tributes have poured in for the wrestler known as The Fiend. Johnson, who hailed his ‘cool and rare character’, led the chorus of voices.
